ORIGIN - Teaching engineering methods Design Analysis Associates (DAA), Inc. was founded by William I. (Bill) Fletcher, a former professor of electrical engineering at Utah State University. While teaching at the university, Bill recognized the need to establish a structured design process and responded by authoring the book "An Engineering Approach to Digital Design". This book has become an engineering classic and is used internationally in both academia and industry. Bill's establishment of "A Systematic Approach to Digital System Design" created new opportunities for him to teach his methods to practicing engineers outside the university at industry sites. |

RESPONSE - Responding to demand Bill's reputation as a design and teacher created demands for his talents that were beyond his limits. He responded by founding Design Analysis Associates, Inc. in 1972. As DAA gained exposure and recognition in the electronics industry, Bill's structured design and documentation process benefited the company and its customers by assuring excellent control and predictability for each project. |

PARTNERSHIP - Providing a perfect match. The 1980's brought unprecedented growth to the VLSI, computer and electronics industries and caused both large and small companies to look beyond their own internal resources for help in keeping pace with ever shrinking market windows. Partnering with many different companies, DAA and its talented engineering staff have provided the ability and expertise to successfully carry out many projects form concepts to completion. |
